To all young professionals who want to kick-start their careers in international development? Well, Applications are now open to apply for the World Bank Young Professionals Program 2026. World Bank Group, through its official portal, has recently made the announcement of its flagship recruitment program “YPP 2026,” exclusively designed for talented and highly motivated individuals who want to pursue their careers in international development. The Young Professional program offers work programs in two tracks: (1) Operations, (2) Specialized function track. Applicants from diverse academic backgrounds are invited to submit their applications. The young professional program is a full-time employment at the World Bank. Selected applicants will join as mid-career professionals (GF Level) on  an initial 2-year term contract that may be extended to a 5-year contract based on performance

Applicants need to choose the work program that aligns with their experience and professional background. Applicants from World Bank member countries holding a master’s degree with a minimum of 2-6 years of professional work experience in the relevant area are eligible to apply. The YPP program is primarily based at the World Bank Group headquarters in Washington, DC, USA. However, some young professionals may be placed in World Bank country offices worldwide. Eligiblity Criteria

Applicants fulfilling the following criteria are invited to apply:

  • The World Bank YPP is accepting applications from applicants from World Bank Group member countries
  • Applicants holding a master’s degree or higher in the areas related to public policy, finance, economics, engineering, social sciences, public health, education, or other development-related fields.
  • Have 1-2 years of relevant professional work experience
  • Excellent command of the written and spoken English language
  • Candidates already serving in the World Bank are not eligible to apply
  • Applicants must not be older than 32 years of age at the time of application
