About Google Student PhD Researcher Program

It is one of Google’s highly competitive internship programs designed for students enrolled in PhD programs in computer science or related fields. The program allows students to work on research projects across Google’s research and engineering teams, including Google Research, Google DeepMind, Google Cloud, and other Google research groups. During the program, interns will work on real projects in areas such as artificial intelligence, algorithms, sustainability, and intelligent systems.

Who can Apply?

You must meet the following criteria to apply:

  • Students currently enrolled in a PhD program.
  • Pursuing degrees in Computer Science, Linguistics, Statistics, Biostatistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Economics, and related technical fields.
  • Have experience in at least one computer science area, including: Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Data Science, Natural Language Understanding, Computer Vision, Human-Computer Interaction, and Software Engineering.
  • Experience with languages such as JavaScript, Python, and C/C++ would be an asset.
  • Preference is given to students pursuing degrees in the United States.
