About Asia University ASEAN Scholarship?
Asia University offers a prestigious scholarship in Japan. The program aims to develop international students who want to build a career in Japan while deepening their understanding of the Japanese language, culture, and business practices. The scholarship is funded by donations from various Japanese companies that support the program’s purpose. For the 2027 intake, the scholarship will award up to 20 students.

Available Courses
The scholarship supports two courses:
1. Special Course: Intensive Japanese Course
It’s a 5-year pathway that consists of 1 year of an intensive Japanese course + 4 years of a regular undergraduate program.
Students can choose from the following fields of study:
- Business Administration
- Hospitality Management
- Data Science
- Economics
- Law
- International Relations
- Multicultural Communication
- Contemporary Sociology
2. Regular Undergraduate Course
It’s a 4-year pathway that consists of 4 years of a regular bachelor’s degree.
Students can choose from the following fields of study:
- Business Administration
- Economics
- Law
- International Relations
- Multicultural Communication
- Contemporary Sociology
Scholarship Coverage
Selected students will receive the following support for the program duration:
- Full tuition fee waiver for Japanese course
- Full tuition fee waiver for Undergraudate course
- Full application fee coverage
- Accommodation allowance for the first two years
The overall scholarship value:
- ¥6 million for the 5-year Special Course
- ¥5 million for the 4-year Undergraduate Course.
Note: Students must maintain a GPA of 2.45 to continue receiving their scholarship.
The programme does not cover:
- International airfare coverage to/from Japan
- Overseas travel insurance
- Personal living allowance during the programme

- Thailand
- Malaysia
- Indonesia
- Philippines
- Cambodia
- Myanmar

Who can Apply?
- Students from eligible ASEAN Countries
- Must not hold dual nationality with Japan
- Current high school students with an expected graduation date in March 2027 or
- Students who have graduated between October 5, 2025 and October 4, 2026.
- Demonstrate strong academic performance in high school
- Eligible to obtain a student visa for Japan
- Must not already be studying in Japan
Language requirement
- Special Course: Applicants need JLPT N4 or N3
- Regular Course: Applicants need to pass the Type C international student entrance examination and hold JLPT N2 or N1
