VISA’S TYPES

Italy offers two main types of visas for non-EU candidates: –

Visa Type C Visa Type D
Short-duration courses

90 days

Long stay

Courses that last for more than 90 days

All courses of short duration fall under this visa, this also including

All Long-term courses including academic studies require this visa in Italy

  • Degree
  • Diploma

Multiple Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD programs come under visa type D, owing to the duration of the courses. It is pertinent to mention that students with type D visas shall also apply for a residence permit (permesso di soggiorno) and what too within 8 working days after arrival in Italy.

  • Proof of financial insurance (Proof of €460.28 per month for the entire stay)
  • You should possess health insurance for the duration of the course
  • Criminal record
  • Admission offer from Italian institute
  • The duration of the course you’re getting admission in should be less than 90 days in case of a Type C visa and more than 90 days in case of a Type D

Note: The proof of financial requirement should be given by bank statement, a sponsor letter, or any other means. In case you’re getting a full scholarship, show your scholarship award letter, and no financial proof is required. However, for a partial scholarship, you’ll have to show how you’re managing the rest of the financial expenses.
