KAUST Global Fellowship 2025 for Early Career Researchers

Wait no more, as King Abdullah University of Science and Technology is currently accepting applications for the Fully Funded KAUST Global Fellowship 2025 for Postdocs. The goal of the fellowship is to invest in self-driven scientific changemakers with revolutionary findings to contribute to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s 2030 vision while advancing KAUST’s own mission in research, education, and innovation.

KAUST has recently announced a fellowship program for postdoctoral researchers, inviting PhD holders worldwide with no age restriction to apply. Candidates must meet the required eligibility criteria, find a host faculty member at KAUST to propose a research project in one of the university’s research areas, and apply for the fellowship online. The agreement between the relative applicant and the host faculty member will serve as a solid foundation for securing funding totaling $115,000, which will cover research funding, a living stipend, accommodation, international travel, and all related expenses.

Funding / Cost:

Each successful candidate shall receive the following funding for three years of fellowship.

  • $40,000 of funding for their research proposal
  • $75,000 yearly living stipend

  • Relocation Allowance
  • Annual travel allowance
  • Schooling for up to 2 children

KAUST Academic Divisions:

The KAUST Global Fellowship Program supports research projects in accordance with the programs of the three KAUST academic divisions;

  • BESE stands for Biological and Environmental Science and Engineering.
  • CEMSE stands for Computer, Electrical, and Mathematical Science and Engineering.
  • Physical Science and Engineering (PSE).

Who can Apply?

To be eligible for the fellowship program, you need to fulfill the following criteria:

  • Citizens of all nationalities can apply, with encouragement for female applicants. Applicants must have a PhD degree (or be nearing completion) between January 2020 and December 2024.
  • Successful applicants must relocate to KAUST for a three-year research project, and their application must include a clearly identified KAUST faculty member willing to host the project.

Selection Criteria: 

KAUST is looking for applicants with the following qualities:

  • 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • The applicants must submit a proposal that will focus on one or more KAUST academic research divisions and provide a three-year outline.
  • The applicants must satisfy all the Saudi Arabian requirements to obtain resident status.
